The virtual analog XMT sound engine opens up the possibility of a huge range of different sounds in an easily manageable package. Kingkorg Neo is equipped with a wide range of oscillator algorithms, from classic sawtooth and square waves to more complex waveforms typical of analog synths and PCM / DWGS-based sounds. Similarly, the filter selection of the synthesizer is a treasure trove for versatile sound designers: there are filters from iconic mono synths from the 70s for punchy lead and bass sounds, as well as filters from polyphonic synthesizers from the 80s, not forgetting Korg's legendary MS-20 synthesizer filters.

The wide selection of 200 presets is designed with the modern music maker in mind, and for post-processing sounds the player has three master effect slots, each with six different effect types. In addition, the front panel of the Kingkorg Neo has a balanced XLR input, and the synthesizer comes with a high-quality microphone. The instrument's vocoder is 16-band, and compares well with classic vocoder sounds.
